ETH Shanghai
Client:
ETHShanghai is a prestigious Web3 summit dedicated to Ethereum and the decentralized web. This event aims to bring together Web3 builders from across China and Asia to explore the possibilities of Web3 tools and resources, fostering innovation and collaboration in the blockchain space.

My Role:
The goal was to create a cohesive visual identity with the team and apply graphics for Perimeter Design that represents both the vibrant spirit of Shanghai and the cutting-edge nature of Web3 technology.

Design Challenge:
The primary challenge was to seamlessly integrate Shanghai's iconic architecture and cultural elements with electronic and high-tech visual styles, creating a unique aesthetic that resonates with the event's themes. 

Research and Inspiration:
  • Extensive research into Shanghai's Cultural and Architectural Heritage( iconic skyline and architectural marvels such as the Oriental Pearl Tower, the Shanghai Tower, and the historic Bund area.) which provided a foundation for incorporating authentic Shanghai elements into the design.

  • Web3 and Blockchain Visual Trends: I analyzed current trends in Web3 design, including the use of dark mode, micro-interactions, and advanced data visualization techniques. Which ensured that our visual system would align with the expectations of the tech-savvy audience.

Design Approach:
Iconic Architecture Stylization: Electronic circuit patterns to blend the city's physical presence with a high-tech aesthetic. Inspired by the retro-futurism trend 
, I designed a layer of futuristic elements that intertwine with the architectural illustrations, symbolizing the merger of Shanghai's rich history with cutting-edge Web3 technology.

Outcome:
The final visual system successfully captures the essence of Shanghai while conveying the innovative spirit of ETHShanghai. By blending traditional elements with futuristic design, we created a unique identity that resonates with both local and international attendees, effectively promoting the event and its place at the forefront of Web3 innovation.
