IDEA & CONCEPT
In an era dominated by digital media, people are surrounded by screens and digital platforms. Finding slow-paced activities and spaces to re-enjoy real quality of life has become a new way to replenish life's energy. Amidst such a fast-paced and overstimulated lifestyle, the Museum of Pencil was designed to preserve the raw beauty of the pencil as a classic creative tool, providing a space for all ages to explore its creativity and embrace nostalgia. Simultaneously, it acts as a testament to the merging of the tangible and digital realms.
APPROACH
After conducting extensive research and sketches on different visual approaches, I eventually identified looseness, classical and texture as important keywords.
I drew inspiration from the pencil’s versatility—its ability to be sketched, erased, and reshaped—and explored various mediums to highlight its distinctive qualities in the museum's peripheral design.
